Ribs!!

Aug 27

Think about the most romantic dinner you’ve had….. are you picturing it? Were you picturing messy ribs? Well, if you weren’t, you should :) Austin and I got a new grill a couple weeks ago, and we have been obsessed with grilling everything! It has all these awesome features that Austin wants to make sure to try out.

One of the first things we wanted to do was to make ribs. Ribs were on sale at the grocery store, so we bought a huge rack to make the next day. The weather was gorgeous, so it was the great day to sit outside while the ribs smoked/cooked.

Romantic for many people isn’t sitting with your significant other and eating your weight in ribs with bbq sauce smeared on your face and fingers, but it was the perfect, romantic date night for my hubby and me.

Ingredients

  • Rack of RIbs
  • Spicy Cajun Seasoning (We used Dinosaur BBQ)
  • BBQ Sauce (Again, we used Dinosaur BBQ- use your favorite!)
  • Honey
  • Wood Chips for Smoking/Grilling
  • Difficulty: easy

Directions

First up, prepare the ribs. Rub the ribs with Dinosaur BBQ seasoning (we had spicy cajun). Use as much or as little seasoning, depending on the level of spice you like.

Soak wood chips in water for 30 mins.

Fire up left side of grill, keeping the heat low (300-350 degrees). We put the wood chips directly on the hot side of the grill because we have infrared plates that can be used for smoking. If you cannot put the wood chips directly on the grill, place a piece of tin foil on the grill before adding the wood chips.

Put the meat on the "cold" half of grill for indirect cooking & smoking. Grill for 1 1/2 hours or more, turning every 15-20 minutes until the pink is gone.

During the last 5-10 minutes, sauce the ribs with heavily with bbq sauce and drizzle with honey!
