Porkchops with Dijon Herb Sauce

Jan 11

I am not a huge fan of mustard, but it when I did my google search for top porkchop recipes, most of the recipes called for mustard. So I thought I would give it a world.  I thought they porkchops were good– Austin thought they were awesome.  Well, to be more clear, the porckchops tasted delish, but I am still a little skeptical about the mustard sauce, but if you’re a mustard fan, this is the recipe for you!  I very slightly adapted it from Skinny Taste.

The one thing I did take away is that I will never bake porkchops– now, it’s all about cooking them in a skillet on the stovetop.  What other ways do you season your porkchops??

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 4 pork chops (with bone, fat removed)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • fresh ground pepper
  • 3 tbs chopped onion
  • 3/4 cup chicekn broth
  • 1 tbs dijon mustard
  • 1 tbs dried parsley
  • Servings: 4
  • Difficulty: easy

Directions

In a large frying pan heat the butter over moderately low heat. Add garlic and brown. Season pork with salt and pepper.
Raise heat to medium and add the chops to the pan and sauté for 7 minutes.

Turn and cook until chops are browned and done to medium, about 7-8 minutes longer. Remove the chops and keep warm.
Add the onion to the pan and cook, stirring, until soft, about 3 minutes. Add the chicken broth and boil until it reduces to 1/2 cup, 2-3 minutes. Stir in the mustard, herbs, and 1/8 tsp pepper.
When serving, pour sauce over meat.

  1. Mustard + porkchops = awesome! But, I’m with you, I don’t like mustard on sandwiches, hot dogs, or the normal things :)
